If you want to create your FIRST digital product, I wouldn't recommend building a full-blown course or a membership program yet π
βοΈ
I didn't start with either of those, and you don't need to either.
Back in 2021, my very first digital product was just a simple copywriting template.
I typed it out in a basic Word document, exported it as a PDF, and put it out into the world. It was stupidly simple... yet people actually bought it!
While that exact product might not be in-demand today, the core lesson remains the same:
People will always pay for useful products that make their lives easier.
Her Youtube videos provide a lot theoretical knowledge in various topics.
And under each videos, she will attach different workbook and templates so her audience know how to put those theories into practice.
Her content teaches the "why", while her templates guides the "how".
As creators, we usually offer these in 2 ways:
π Freebies (Lead Magnets): Low-commitment downloads that give a fast, standalone win in exchange for an email address.
π Paid Products (Low-Ticket Offers): Simple, focused resources that dive deeper into solving a specific, high-friction problem.
Here's how to actually come up with your own digital product ‡οΈ
1. Identify skills you already have
Uncover your skill and match it to a painful problem that people are facing.
Passion alone doesn't sell. You need a combination of:
Skill + Specific Pain Point = Product.
Start by asking yourself:
β‘οΈ What topic could I talk about for 30 minutes straight with zero prep?
β‘οΈ What do friends, family, or colleagues repeatedly ask me for help with?
For instance: I have a corporate friend with a new baby who became a total pro at milk pumping schedules and travel setups. Women ask breastfeeding advice constantly from her!
→ Skill: Corporate milk pumping & nursing
→ Pain Point: "How to maintain a pumping schedule when returning to a 9-to-5 office."
Or maybe you’re the go-to gardener in your group, and everyone wants to know how you keep your plants alive.
→ Pain Point: "How to keep indoor plants alive in low-light apartments"
That is your starting point.
Believe me, these everyday skills can be turned into profitable digital products if you know how to.
2. Build your simple digital product
Focus entirely on helping someone solve one specific problem.
Don't overcomplicate the format. Choose the deliverable that requires the least friction for your buyer to use
π Templates & Checklists: Great for quick implementation (e.g., Notion dashboards, budget trackers, copy prompts).
π Workbooks & Guides: Great for step-by-step transformation (e.g., a 10-page "First-Time Plant Parent" manual or a career transition roadmap).
You can also browse platforms like Etsy, Gumroad, or Notion Marketplace in completely different niches to see what formats are currently working, then adapt that structure to your topic.
My own favorite software (FREE plans available):
β‘οΈ Google Doc - to write
β‘οΈ Systeme io - to host my product
3. Setup payment gateway
Decide whether this will be a free lead magnet to build your audience or a low-ticket paid product to generate income right away.
You can register a payment gateway account like Stripe (what I'm using) and connect it to where you host your product.
We have AI now and if you don't know how to setup anything or get stuck in any software you're using, you can literally ask them to be your tech support π
4. Embed your product into your content ecosystem
You don't actually need to become a Youtube or a Tiktok famous to do this.
You don't even need to run ads if you don't have the budget. Let's keep this very low cost.
You can easily embed your products into your existing content ecosystem.
Let's say you have a Threads or Instagram account. Start by making sure they are "proper" enough to go public.
If your content is "too personal" there, just create a new account.
β‘οΈ Add the product link directly to your social bio.
β‘οΈ Write content that explains the "why", then position your resource as the logical "how" next step at the end of your post.
β‘οΈ Use foundational copywriting principles: focus on how your product makes their life easier.
There you go, all 4 steps to build your digital products today! β¨
You don't need 10k followers to start, you just need to get your solution in front of the right people.
Start before you feel ready. Build a simple offer, put it out there, ask for feedback, and adjust as you go.
What’s one simple problem you could solve for someone this week? Hit reply and let me know, I’d love to hear your idea! π«Ά
